Card Games in Late Imperial China

On Thursday, 21 November, we will be given an interesting insight into a somewhat unusual aspect of Chinese culture. Hong Kong-born Andrew Lo is a lecturer in the Department of the Far East at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London University. His field of research is Chinese literature and has more recently included Chinese games. In 1988 he wrote a paper entitled “Dice, Dominoes and Card Games in Chinese Literature – A Preliminary Survey”, it will provide the base for his talk.
