Film: Four Holy Buddhist Mountains, Part I

Made by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, this beautiful documentary takes us to the four holy mountains of China. Famous for their scenery, they also are home to some of Chinese Buddhism's principle holy places. With magnificent temples as background, the film aims to introduce the life of monks and nuns in China today, and to present the origins of Buddhism and the profound spirituality of the believers. The narration is done entirely in Chinese, so we will be given - ahead of time - an introduction and synopsis in English, by a scholar from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Lovers of exquisite scenery and students of Buddhism will be delighted and enlightened. Part I will show Jin Hua Shan and E Mei Shan.
