Dr. Sarah Allan, a lecturer at the School of Oriental and African Studies at London University, is in China to give a paper on the tiger in Early Chinese Art at the conference at Beida (Beijing University), to be held after the opening of the Sackler Museum. Her specialties include oracle bones and Dunhuang, and she is also involved in the preparation of books about Chinese bronzes and oracle collections in Europe.
