Yunju Temple, in Fangshan district outside Beijing, was founded in the Tang Dynasty. Only last year was the temple re-opened to visitors. It is best known for stone carved Buddhist scriptures, and a 12th century Liao Dynasty pagoda. Several restored temple halls are now open. The scenery is wonderful – a perfect place for a summer outing. Bring a picnic lunch for this all day excursion. There will be a busfee.
