Explorer and author Jeff Fuchs will speak about his 8-month groundbreaking journey and his experiences on one of the world's great trade routes, the Tea Horse Road. Fuchs is the first westerner to have completed the entire route stretching almost six thousand kilometers through the Himalayas, a dozen cultures and two dozen dialects. His talk will highlight the importance of oral traditions in tea and mountain cultures.

Jeff Fuchs’ photos and stories have appeared in World Geographic, Kyoto Journal, The Spanish Expedition Society, The Earth, Silkroad Foundation, The China Post Newspaper, New Ideas, Outdoor Exploration, Voyage, Outpost, The Toronto Star, The China Post and Traveler. He is a member of the fabled Explorers Club which supports sustainable exploration and research.

His recently released book The Ancient Tea Horse Road (Penguin-Viking Publishers) will be on sale at this event.
